- The development of the Port Services strategy and the implementation for the Americas.
- Execution of sales and operations within the Americas, in accordance with established global processes, policies and procedures.
- Port Services offers implementation in order to achieve maximum customer penetration and optimal margins.
- Promoting ports and capabilities within the Americas, globally.
- Ensuring Port Services operates in accordance with governing elements, global processes, policies, standards, as well as local legal, statutory, and fiscal obligations.
- Building staff competencies and organisational capabilities in order to develop the talent required in tomorrow’s market.
- Liaising with other regions and global functions to optimise synergies.
- Master’s degree or equivalent in business management or other relevant subjects.
- Minimum 5-8 years working in a senior leadership position, preferably within the maritime industry.
- International and multicultural experience at a senior management level.
- Excellent communication skills and a very good command of the English language.
- Willingness to travel.
- Commercial orientation and ability to drive change.
- Vision and strategic competence.
- Ambition and a strong desire to succeed in developing/growing the business.
- Good management and leadership skills, combined with experience managing other managers.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and cooperate with diverse individuals and cultures.

Wilhelmsen Port Services (WPS) is extending its global management team with a Vice President Americas.
WPS’ strategy of expanding our presence in the port value chain beyond being a global market leader in Ships Agency is showing great promise. To build on our success in both North, Central and South America, we are recruiting a dedicated Vice President for this region.
The Vice President Americas will be responsible to execute our global growth strategy in the region, commercially and operationally. Leading a high performing and experienced team to new heights.
With a deep understanding of the market and key maritime players in the region, and the ability to nurture contacts on C-suite level, you are expected to grow our footprint in the region both organically and through M&As and partnerships. Identifying new opportunities in the port value chain will be a critical part of this role.
You will ensure our business is conducted up to our high global standards of quality, safety, and compliance. Our employees are key in delivering excellent customer experiences and you need to ensure that both competence and engagement levels are high. The same applies to our suppliers and subagents.
Within WPS, you are an important part of our global network and as such you will work closely together with the other Vice Presidents in the team. In addition you will be able to tap into a team of highly qualified functional experts.What you will work on:
