- Develop short- and long-term operational strategies in partnership with senior team members and provide the leadership necessary for the successful design, development, and execution of the strategy to achieve measurable outcomes in a timely, cost effective manner.
- Maintain close working relationships with other functional areas, including Business Development, Human Resources, Finance, Marketing, and Culinary.
- Partner with the business unit leaders and other key stakeholders to drive change and implement new business processes.
- Lead and manage a highly productive, motivated and driven team through strong communication, empowerment, reward and coaching techniques.
- Work with the Regional Directors to develop and implement Genuine strategy within the division and more widely in the region to deliver sustainable, profitable growth and value for our clients and our business.
- Manage and develop the division talent in collaboration with HR and segment leadership
- Support and nurture client relationships to increase client retention and growth through brand reputation.
- 7+ years of progressively responsible, successful experience in Food Service operations management with full P&L responsibility, preferably in the Higher Ed sector but will accept applications with relevant experience from other verticals.
- History of managing large teams in a food service or quick dining setting.
- Ability to successfully manage within a heavy regulated contractual environment
- Experience of managing a complex client portfolio with excellent client negotiation skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a broad knowledge of management practices and good business analysis/project management skills
- Experience setting overall strategy and drive business process improvement.
- Strong ability to communicate across all levels and departments to implement new procedures, policies, etc to achieve business goals
- Strong business planning skills to execute strategic projects with implications for business areas with rapidly evolving business processes.
- Proven ability to manage numerous projects, as well as resources, remotely across many regions.

ABOUT THIS POSITION
This Vice President of Operations (VPO) professional is responsible for the overall operation of all Higher Education accounts and will report to the Chief Executive Officer. This individual will be accountable for energizing a team under a common growth and operations platform, and ultimately drive improvement in operational efficiency, revenue, margin and client retention/satisfaction for each account in the overall portfolio. The VPO will work to continuously ensure the organization is delivering operational excellence, while also identifying innovative and creative services and solutions to expand on our clients' requirements, working closely with internal and external partners. The ideal candidate is comfortable with change, working cross functionally and influencing decision-making.
