      The Vice President of Operational Excellence will be responsible for driving operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives across our PGS ecosystem. This role requires a strong background in lean manufacturing principles, process optimization, and change management. The successful candidate will collaborate across PGS to advance and evolve the systems and tools to drive the health and efficiency of the network. The role will include leadership of critical systems and programs including, Pfizer’s system, known as IMEx (Integrated Manufacturing Excellence), leading our Manufacturing Cycle Time improvement initiative, part of the Blueprint 2.0, and support core business principles Time is Life and Execution Makes the Difference.

      ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

      • The Vice President of Operational Excellence will lead a critical team of leaders working across PGS to drive and optimize, IMEx, Innovation Excellence Capabilities, Operational Excellence Capabilities & Solutions, Learning and Development Academy, Performance and Program Excellence and Leadership Excellence.
      • Leads Manufacturing Cycle Time Improvement, as part of the Blueprint 2.0 initiative.
      • Drive lean manufacturing principles via IMEx, including 5S, value stream mapping, standard work, and visual management to optimize processes and eliminate waste. The role focuses on the overall design and sustainment of the IMEx system including, ecosystems (integrated grouping of lean capabilities), elements (operating standards that together outline a set of activities for performance), detailed standards, deployment model, academy, governance, and metrics. This includes IMEx system across the network, ensuring 'one best way' for Pfizer operations is enabled.
      • Drive and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational efficiency and track progress towards established goals. Leverage visualization, trends to identify insights and solutions.
      • This position provides a competitive advantage to Pfizer Global Supply by pursuing and integrating manufacturing technologies, human performance systems, data science and analytics, and breakthrough innovation to drive the production system model for PGS.
      • The candidate will thrive on the opportunity to initiate and lead innovative manufacturing production system advancements.
      • Ensure regular process audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement.
      • Provide training and mentorship to manufacturing teams on lean principles, problem-solving methodologies, and continuous improvement techniques.
      • Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in manufacturing excellence and recommend innovative solutions to enhance operational performance.
      • Lead and evolve a culture of operational excellence throughout the manufacturing organization. Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and employee engagement, promoting a positive work environment and empowering employees at all levels to contribute to process improvement initiatives.
      • The role will engage senior PGS leaders to drive the production system strategy, elements, and operating standards for the future PGS manufacturing system in order to drive the Fundamental Value Proposition and achieve our Blueprint 2.0 to create the world best medicinal supply engine that drives excellence metrics across Quality, Supply and Cost.

      BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

      • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing or Engineering, or a related field. Lean Six Sigma certification (e.g., Green Belt, Black Belt) is highly desirable.
      • Minimum of 15 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role, with a proven track record of driving operational excellence and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
      • 5+ years in a people management role preferred (or equivalent) with proven accountability, and demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, influencing, and problem-solving capabilities.
      • In-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, methodologies, and tools.
      • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and technology, with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
      • Demonstrated ability to lead complex large-scale projects and cross-functional processes, to establish and meet deadlines, work within tight timeframes, and respond to changing requirements.
      • Demonstrated change agility to successfully manage high degree of complexity and priorities.
      • Demonstrated excellence in developing & managing effective teams.
      • Experience managing performance of group and holding team accountable for internal KPIs.
      • Highly experienced and proven ability in enterprise leadership and execution of business practices.
      • Demonstrate experience managing budgets, strategic resource management ownership.
      • Demonstrate advanced critical thinking capabilities (e.g. synthesize key insights, and complex problems clearly and precisely, uses inference to reason to important implications and consequences, uses deductive reasoning consistently and with ease to drive effective solutions or programs)
      • Ability to drive continuous improvement strategy and operational improvement opportunities.
      • Must have exceptional written and oral communication skills to support succinct and effective communications between internal / external stakeholders.
      • Well-developed interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate across PGS functions and work effectively across all levels of the organization.
      • Proactively communicate and influence VPs & major enterprise-wide committees

      PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

      • An advanced degree is preferred.

      Relocation support available

      The annual base salary for this position ranges from $232,300.00 to $387,200.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 30.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
