      Education required: To apply for this placement, you must be:

      Currently studying an Undergraduate Degree in any discipline.

      Other requirements: You will have completed a minimum of 2 years of your undergraduate degree but will not have graduated at the start of your placement. You must be enrolled at a UK university for the duration of your placement.

      If you have already graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree and are currently studying a postgraduate Masters, you are not eligible for this programme.

      Language requirement: Written and spoken fluency in English

      Expected Start date: June 2024

      Duration: 1 year (approximately)

      Salary: A salary of £23,400 plus a bonus

      With a Commercial role in ViiV H ealthcare you will be part of teams that are integral to our success. You will work in an agile, innovative, and supportive team, with accountability for the delivery of key business projects. The information below goes into further detail about what each role entails:

      Please read about the 6 roles we are recruiting for across our ViiV Commercial Industrial Placement offerings. These are distinct placements, so when you apply you will be able to select a preference for where you would like to be placed if you’re successful. We will accommodate your preference where possible .

      Role 1: ViiV European Commercial Executive

      Role 2: ViiV UK Brand Associate

      Role 3: ViiV Europe Marketing Executive

      Role 4: ViiV Global Marketing Executive

      Role 5: ViiV Market Access Associate

      Role 6: ViiV Customer Experience Operations Executive

      All roles are based at our Headquarters in Brentford, London. We’re moving towards a more sustainable future with our new headquarters. With better public transport links and proximity to world-class science and technology institutions, we’re excited for our move to the vicinity of Earnshaw Street, London WC1A (“the New HQ”) by mid- 2024.

      Role 1: ViiV European Commercial Executive

      The European Marketing and Capability team is a large highly dynamic and diverse team. We have people working from London (GSK House) and across Europe to drive clear commercial strategic direction, excellent execution, and ultimate growth of our large portfolio of medicines which benefit people living with HIV and/or people who could benefit from PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis). In this role, you can expect to gain commercial business skills, critical thinking, project management skills along with stakeholder management experience and would cultivate a clear understanding of working in a regional marketing and capability role across multiple products (ranging from blockbuster to launch medicines).

      Key responsibilities:

      • Work with multiple countries across Europe, including organising and leading Regional network calls

      • Support project planning for key international conference(s), webinars and/or European specific events (Peer to Peer)

      • Supporting the capability team to deliver training modules and face to face training for the region

      • Build understanding of the customer experience (CX) journey at ViiV, support implementation to the local countries and provide feedback to global to ensure continual improvement

      • Support with Best Practice Sharing across Europe aligned with Business Priorities

      • Review of sales data and market research across HIV and on brands specifically to check and review impact of strategies and tactics

      Role 2: ViiV UK Brand Associate

      The UK Local Operating Country (LOC) is small and fast-paced. Working in an LOC, you can expect to gain a firm understanding of how ViiV commercialise products. You will get first-hand exposure to all the teams that make up a LOC including partnership with medical and sales, as well as above country (Europe and Global). Through this you would gain commercial business skills, critical thinking, project management skills and stakeholder management experience.

      The individual would work alongside brand managers, and as part of a cross functional team (including medical, marketing and sales) to support/lead the delivery of key deliverables to support the performance of our brands in the UK.

      Key responsibilities:

      • Support project planning, content creation and execution of activities for conferences, webinars, and local peer to peer events

      • Building understanding and support execution of activities to drive customer experience (CX).

      • Delivery of content, both localised from global, and LOC generated to support interactions with Healthcare Professionals

      • Partnership with Brand Managers, UK Capability Lead and First Line Sales Managers to roll out new initiatives to the sales teams and support embedding in market.

      • Stakeholder management with brand team and approvers to coordinate content creation and approval.

      • Review of K ey Performance Indicator s, sales data, and market research to check and review impact of strategies and tactics.

      • Close working with EU teams to input into content creation, responsible for providing feedback to ensure content is appropriate for market requirements and support continual improvement

      • Raise purchase orders and track budget spend

      • Supporting Business Planning process

      Role 3: ViiV Europe Marketing Executive

      As a ViiV Marketing Executive in the EU Alliance team, you'll be working in a dynamic and multifaceted environment. The role involves exposure to various business functions, including Commercial, Medical, and Digital areas, providing a holistic understanding of ViiV and GSK operations. You'll gain wide-ranging experience in different business aspects, thereby enhancing your business acumen. Responsibilities include implementing marketing campaigns, liaising for performance improvement, coordinating internal and external projects, managing internal communications, monitoring budgets, analyzing performance, and driving innovation in customer experience campaigns.

      Key responsibilities:

      • Assist in rolling out marketing plans and new product launches

      • Work with teams to create and implement campaigns that improve customer experience.

      • Connect with different teams to understand and share effective strategies and improvements.

      • Organize materials needed for internal meetings and conferences.

      • Lead project collaborations with external agencies and colleagues across various teams.

      • Handle internal communications within your team, ensuring everyone gets the right information on time.

      • Keep track of your team's budget, working with the finance team to monitor spending.

      • Regularly review performance against goals and share insights in reports to stakeholders.

      • Help in using digital channels effectively for marketing across the EU Alliance region.

      • Innovate in customer experience campaigns and support learning and development projects.

      Role 4: ViiV Global Commercial Marketing Executive

      ViiV Global Commercial Strategy is responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing the effectiveness of the global commercial strategy for our key ViiV product to support the ongoing commercialization activities across the world. Working at a global level, you will get the opportunity to turn insights into strategy and material development, as well as gain an aerial perspective of the health economies of countries around the world.

      You will gain first-hand insight and exposure to the cross-functional workings of ViiV’s largest global commercial brand and gain skills such as commercial business acumen, critical thinking, project management skills, in addition to stakeholder management experience within our team, with medical and our regional and local counterparts.

      The individual would work alongside our Global Marketing Managers as part of a fast-paced, innovative, collaborative, and supportive cross functional team (including medical, patient affairs and channel and ops).

      Key responsibilities:

      • Work with internal and agency stakeholders to support development and track performance of global brand strategy to ensure our brand’s strategy , Healthcare Professionals and People Living with HIV’s needs are delivered optimally within our key channels .

      • Partner with creative agency to brief, develop, and refine promotional global tactics aligned to business plan .

      • Utilisation of content lab process to facilitate global asset development.

      • Facilitate and collate feedback from regional stakeholders, as well as best practice on latest channel development from our Channel and Operations colleagues to improve global materials.

      • Lead the development of Global deliverables aligned to brand strategy, customer journey stages and customer experience journey and assess opportunities for continuous improvement .

      • Develop and nurture strong collaborative relationship with our global medical colleagues as true brand partners.

      • Track budget spend.

      Role 5: ViiV Market Access Associate

      This individual would be embedded into the UK market access team which is a function of the C ommercial UK business. The market access team consists of 4 head office market access colleagues and 2 in-field market access Key Account Managers (KAMs) who are customer facing. The head office team works on the reimbursement of pipeline products, pricing, and tenders, managing stock and supply, overcoming barriers people living with HIV might face in accessing medicine within the UK and the delivery of in-field materials needed by the KAMs to have effective customer conversations. Through this work the individual would learn how to bring a medicine to market and the challenges thereafter, develop critical business skills, strategic thinking, project management and stakeholder management.

      Key responsibilities:

      • In-field tactics for K ey Account Manager s to aid their customer conversations

      • Management of ViiV’s involvement in the implementation of Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) across the UK

      • Develop materials, stakeholder maps and project manage deliverables to support

      • KAMs with conversations on the national tender for HIV antiretroviral treatments

      • Project management of the market access team embedding key performance indicators (KPIs) across the team and holding them to account

      • Support successful management and forecast for the stock and supply of ViiV’s HIV portfolio of medicines, of which there are 5 innovation brands and +10 brands in total

      Role 6: ViiV Customer Experience Operations Executive

      The CX Capabilities & Operations team is the global omnichannel hub enabling ViiV’s CX Framework. ViiV is on a digital transformation journey and this team is at the centre of driving this change. The team works with global, regional and local marketing teams to deliver impactful data-driven customer experiences to healthcare professionals by enabling needed platforms and processes and ensuring best-in-class channel capabilities.

      Key responsibilities:

      • Collaborate with the CX delivery leads to support Local Operating Companies (LOCs) execute campaigns for healthcare professionals.

      • Supporting LOCs to design best-in-class user journeys that meet HCP needs.

      • Engage LOCs to identify best practices and collate thematic insights from CX campaigns and share key recommendations across operations, content and tech.

      • Support the Global Omnichannel Lead to optimise CX operations so LOCs can execute campaigns more efficiently.

      • Partner with CX delivery leads to plan and deliver CX Network Calls for the markets.

      • Engage global and local functions to capture and prioritise new CX capability requirements.

      • Liaise with Tech to develop and deploy new priority CX capabilities.

      • Maintain and optimise CX Capabilities Activation Guide to track maturity across LOCs.

      • Lead key meetings, such as the CX Capabilities Weekly Update, to drive accountability on workstream owners.

      • Partner with production, Tech and Data & Analytics teams resolve campaign execution issues swiftly.
