      Description:

      Please note that this position is not Remote and does require you to work on campus at Loyola.

      Responsible for assisting the nursing staff in the continuous monitoring of patients requiring close observation via remote camera monitoring. Works cooperatively with the nursing staff and other patient health care personnel to maintain a safe environment and ensure optimal patient safety and comfort. This position works under limited supervision and receives direction and guidance from the Manager of Virtual Monitoring.

      This Role Will Be Responsible For :

      • Continuous v isual alertness without distraction of a computer screen containing 12 -16 active patients

      • Remain a lert to 12 -16 active patients at all times while on duty; anticipates , r ecognizes and addresses harmful behaviors

      • Monitor patient behaviors and movements via closed circuit camera with pan/tilt/zoom capabilities

      • Verbally redirect patient s over digital 2-way audio device . Immediately alerts nursing staff as necessary

      • Maintain calm, respectful, empathetic , and professional tone while verbal ly communicating with patients, staff, and fellow colleagues

      • M eet the expectation s of nursing staff in order to keep patients safe

      • Provide detailed shift-to-shift report on patient activity to colleagues and nursing staff

      Requirements :

      • Mental c apacity to verbally interact with 12-16 active patients in various le vels of distress, and maintaining calm, focused demeanor while on duty

      • Ability to work 12 hour shifts in a 24/7 healthcare environment

      • Ability to work weekends and holidays, as required

      • Ability to orally and in writing, report on patient activity, as needed

      • Basic Computer skills required , and will accompany on the job learning

      • Experience working in healthcare preferred, but not required

      • Education : Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required

      Pa y Range: $ 16.50 - $22 .11 per hour

      Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
