The Role
RevolutionParts is looking for a VP, Engineering as we enter our next phase of growth disrupting the automotive industry.
We’re looking for someone with experience scaling up a startup, or growing an organization through periods where the structure of communication and work needs to shift. We’re currently at 30 engineers, and the way we do work is in need of adjustment to account for the immense growth we’ve gone through.

Responsibilities
- Team building. You are expected to have a proven track record in attracting and hiring strong talent both in the US and in India.
- Build and structure the organization to be continually better.
- Estimation, deadlines don't scare you. You are talented at working with your team to put a plan in place and keep external commitments on-track.
- You are a master communicator.

- You measure what matters, and constantly improving the SDLC to drive outcomes.
- Support and grow the skills of the engineering organization.
- Work with the chief architect to set a realistic and ever-improving architectural vision.
- Work across departments to coordinate the efforts of engineering with the rest of the company.
- Improve the communications and incremental, continuous delivery of projects. Move forward both our ability to deliver projects, and improve the maintainability of our software.
- Improve the operational structure to drive good results.
- You’ll be a driver for positive change to RevolutionPart’s engineering culture, processes, and technology
Requirements
- Have experience directly or indirectly taking an engineering organization from 25 to 250 people.
- We have a larger presence in India so we are looking for someone that's energized by building offshore teams and traveling as needed.
- You've built and scaled engineering teams in India
- You have eCommerce, Payments, Marketplaces experience
- You are data-driven, and have experience with ETL/ELT technologies and patterns
- You should have a strong engineering and/or architectural background.
- You have uncompromising customer empathy and can come up with creative solutions to timely meet customer and business needs. Under promise and over deliver!
- You should have worked as a software engineer in the past.
- You’ve managed an organization of 40 or more people in the past.
- You have experience in a SaaS based company.
- Ability to travel to Phoenix, Arizona twice a quarter.
- Startup experience
Not Required but preferred
- Experience with marketplaces or payments
- Experience working with and managing cloud-based infrastructure such as AWS.
- You’ve probably had a title like CTO, VP of Engineering, Senior Director of Engineering, or Director of Engineering before.
