      JOB SUMMARY:
      The VP, Global Commercial Pipeline Strategy is a key leadership role responsible for the developing of commercial strategies for BioCryst’s growing portfolio of products for rare disease and serious medical conditions. This position is hands-on and has multi-faceted responsibility with numerous partners across the commercial and development organizations. The role will require an experienced, capable, talented leader with diverse industry experience who excels in aligning and leading cross-functional teams and partners. #LI-Remote


      ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
      • Serve as commercial strategy lead within the program leadership teams (PLTs) during the development of treatments for complement-related diseases and future pipeline products.
      • Provide commercial insight and strategic direction to guide indication selection, target product profiles, clinical trial design, and competitive positioning during the discovery and development process.
      • Partner with colleagues including regional marketing, global business analysis, market access, and medical affairs, to develop product positioning, message platforms, and launch strategies.
      • Responsible for premarket planning by partnering with regions and individual countries to ensure optimal launch preparation.
      • Develop and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders and customers to uncover opportunities that could enhance disease awareness and brand strategy and performance.
      • Proactively research, evaluate and recommend potential commercial growth strategies, including expansion into new markets or therapeutic areas.

      EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
      • BA/BS required; life sciences degree or equivalent desirable, relevant graduate degree preferred.
      • 15 years industry experience and a minimum of 10 years directly related to product commercialization strategy and execution.
      • Experience with rare / orphan diseases is strongly preferred.
      • Must exhibit leadership skills and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment. Self-starter who functions well independently, within a team, and as a team leader.
      • A solid understanding of product development process and the ability to actively contribute to new product development teams.
      • Demonstrated experience mobilizing matrix team members in a cross functional environment.
      • Strong business acumen, customer insight, and analytical skills.
      • Strong written and oral communication, presentation and influencing skills.
      • Ability to travel globally as needed.
