In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
• Lead and coordinate the development of Danaher Ventures’ partnership function, working closely with Danaher leadership.
• Shape the strategy and execution for engagement and partnering between Danaher Venture’s Portfolio of Invested Companies, the broader scientific and external innovation ecosystem and Danaher Groups and Operating Companies.
• Build, maintain and track pipeline of high value commercial and R&D partnerships across afore mentioned parties.
• Manage, cultivate key relationships with Portfolio company C-level staff and Danaher leaders. Clearly articulate the value proposition of partnerships to all parties involved.
• Act as a liaison between Danaher Operating Companies and Venture’s portfolio companies, source emerging and necessary capabilities/partnerships where needed
• Develop frameworks to successfully identify and prioritize opportunities for improvement and innovation in our manufacturing workflow.
• Define success and drive partnership related operations: clear milestone-based execution, funding strategy, tracking, alliance management, KPIs for success including ROI.
• Apply the Danaher Business System to develop and improve standard work around partnerships and Open Innovation.The essential requirements of the job include:
• 10+ years of experience in Corporate External Partnership roles with track record of establishing and maintaining high value commercial and/or R&D partnerships between large organizations and the start-up ecosystem, academia and industry.
• Proven experience in Program Management and Alliance Management supporting internal and external R&D and commercial partnership activities.
• Deep understanding of the Life Sciences and Diagnostics industries.
• Self-Starter: Ability to identify scientific and commercial opportunities, generate new partnership ideas, engage all stake holders and deliver/drive to a signed conclusion.
• Proven ability to navigate complex large organizations, manage stakeholders. Works effectively with cross-functional teams to mobilize associates across the organization, and learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Organizational and strategic management skills, including ability to drive go/no-go decisions: proven experience in driving technology and company due diligence, valuation, and driving licensing deals.
• Outstanding conversational, presentation, and written communication skills.
• Has established networks across scientific/biotech/pharma/academic communities.
• San Francisco location preferred but can be based out of anywhere in the US
Education:
Advanced degree in Science, Engineering or Medicine (Ph.D. or M.D.); MBA a plus
