      Our Opportunity

      We are seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to join our team of professionals in Syracuse, New York .

      Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities

      The Warehouse Supervisor is an organized, reliable, detailed, and service-oriented individual that leads our warehouse team members to meet company KPI standards. In this position, you will monitor the day-to-day warehouse inventory as well as lead warehouse staff to ensure that all products are received, stored, and shipped out in an accurate, efficient manner. Ideal candidates will represent the company in a highly professional, safe, and cost-effective way that complies with all safety and other applicable regulations.

      This position reports to the Operations Manager. The Warehouse Supervisor interacts daily with all warehouse employees, customers, and vendors.

      Leadership

      • Manage the day-to-day activities for all the receiving, shipping, and proper storage of inventory
      • Identify and articulate performance expectations to team members
      • Ensure all warehouse team members are adhering to company best practices and procedures
      • Ensure all new hires complete the 30-60-90-day training in accordance with company best practices
      • Monitor and identify the need for personnel changes in the warehouse, relay to Operations Manager
      • Encourages team members to participate in the improvement-making process
      • Delegates tasks effectively. Creates trust in the team by sharing and following up, not micromanaging
      • Uses position to mentor, guide, and encourage all team members to meet higher performance outcomes
      • Create and maintain an environment of well-rounded staff where the team is working to a common goal
      • Provides clear, concise direction to others; gives prompt and straight feedback, including recognition
      • Embraces and promotes the five Richelieu core values and encourages team members to do the same
      • Promotes a culture of new ideas; Gives credit where credit is due; Sets goals, holds people accountable

      Safety

      • Ensures equipment operators are trained in all aspects of safe and efficient use
      • Reports all accidents/incidents promptly in accordance with standard company policy
      • Completes preventative maintenance for all equipment in accordance with fleet guidelines
      • Maintain a comfortable and safe working environment for all employees
      • Ensure PPE for team members, vendors, and visitors is available and in good condition
      • Address all possible safety issues and bring them to the attention of the Operation Manager
      • Conduct safety committee meetings monthly, and ensure appropriate documents are kept
      • Ensure warehouse members follow proper and timely reporting of all accidents, including near misses
      • Ensure that the team keeps the facility and equipment in excellent and organized shape

      Management

      • Recognize opportunities for operational improvement and make suggestions to Leadership
      • Identifies and proactively manages slow-moving and promptly removes A22 dead stock
      • Manage payroll hours within strict guidelines of Leadership; uses/limit OT effectively
      • Participates in monthly ops meetings, gives insight and opinions, and acts after meeting to meet initiatives
      • Exhibits a strong employee retention pattern, cares about people
      • Ensure cycle count activities are meeting the calendar cadence established by Leadership
      • Ensure team members are meeting company KPI standards for picking and receiving of orders
      • Limit external storage use; work with Operations Manager to identify space constraints
      • Manage, reduce, and eliminate, when possible, the need for temporary staffing
      • Ensure high-turning inventory items are correctly positioned in accordance with company best practices
      • Ensure customer will-call process is being effectively managed; Customers are not waiting for orders
      • Manage all inbound shipments; Inventory is put away within 24 hours of receiving
      • Manage outbound shipments; orders received by 3:00 PM must be delivered the following business day
      • Manage a fleet of delivery vehicles; ensure deliveries routes are in accordance to company best practices
      • Maintain shipping documentation, manifests, and receipts; enter relevant data in reports as needed
      • Consistently seeks and identifies the details and processes that lead to positive change
      • Acts as a conduit of information from information that comes from Leadership
      • Other duties as assigned
      • Available to work between M-F day shift; flexibility for extended hours as needed

      Skills and Qualifications

      • Ability to work professionally, cordially, diplomatically, and with a high level of customer focus
      • Communicates effectively both orally and in writing to internal and external team members
      • Two years of related warehouse supervisorial experience in a similar position
      • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
      • High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred

      Compensation and Benefits

      • Competitive market-based hourly rate up to $28.85/hr
