Description:
• Records operational data from process control instruments and meters, gauge readings, and chemical metering systems on specified forms.
• Operates, inspects, adjusts, and monitors process equipment, to detect problems on air, water, and solids handling systems.
• Under direction, performs process calculations required for the proper operation of equipment, including chemical dosage rates, biological loading, clarifier operation and sludge generation rate.
• Adds process chemicals, potassium permanganate, hydrogen peroxide, caustic, acid, chlorine, polymer, and coagulant using mixers, pumps, and metering devices.
• Performs process control testing and field testing of water, soil and air samples as required.
• Communicates with peers and superiors via verbal and written communications.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience)
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in water filtration and/or water treatment.
• Holds CA water treatment or distribution operator’s license, or, must obtain license within two (2) years from the date of employment.
• Ability to comprehend and follow safety procedures, including hazardous waste site operations.
• Ability to operate equipment, meters, and gauges.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook).
• Knowledge of basic arithmetic and algebra commonly used in the water treatment industry.
SHIFT / HOURS:
1st shift - 6am to 2:30pm
