Job Description

- Work closely with the Chief of Communications, the DoDEA Webmaster, school webmasters and principals in the assigned region to maintain and develop new web pages and web-oriented campaigns.
- Use graphic and visual community techniques and principles to design usable and visually appealing web pages that are in conformance with the overall design of the DoDEA website and in accordance with published 508 accessibility guidelines
- Manage content within the DoDEA.edu web content management system (WCMS) to ensure information delivered is current and accurate.
- Use initiative and resourcefulness in deviating from traditional method or interpreting conflicting trends, patterns, and objectives to develop new methods, criteria, or proposed new policies.
- Design, develop, maintain, coordinate, and manage DoDEA’s family of websites.
- Make sure publications, resources, and websites available to parents on the DoDEA.edu website.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement.

This position is with DoD Education Activity HQ, Office of Chief of Staff Communications Division in Sembach, Germany.
Federal employees in Sembach, Germany are currently entitled to receive a 30% Post Allowance (COLA) in addition to the base salary.Duties

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
GS-9 : One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS- 07 grade level in the Federal service which includes: Performing basic troubleshooting and problems-solving to various networks and websites; Assist Senior Specialist in the implementation of new techniques, new standards and policies, and new information pertaining to electronic communications; Assist in the website editing process to ensure that all information is correct and up to date.
OR
I have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Web Design, Communications, Computer Science, multimedia. I have the specialized experience as described in A, but less than one year; and I have at least one year of graduate education as described in B, but less than the required two years. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100% (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.) (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
GS-11: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS- 09 grade level in the Federal service which includes: Performing basic troubleshooting and problems-solving to various networks and websites; Assisting in the implementation of new techniques, new standards and policies, and new information pertaining to electronic communications; Perform website editing process to ensure that all information is correct and up to date; Assist Senior Specialist gathering and researching information that enhances the value of the site and coordinating with support personnel regarding web presence, content, and/or customer needs.

I have successfully completed a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Web Design, Communications, Computer Science, multimedia. I have the specialized experience as described in A, but less than one year; and I have at least two years of graduate education as described in B, but less than the required three years. GS-12: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS- 11 grade level in the Federal service which includes: Design, develop, maintain, coordinate, and manage website to ensure information delivered is current and accurate. Coordinates extensively with Agency Webmaster, program managers, Information technology staff, and other organization support personnel regarding web presence, content, and customer needs. Gathering and researching information that enhances the value of the site and coordinating with support personnel regarding web presence, content, and/or customer needs.
