- Manage the performance of both websites during weekend hours - focused on hitting or exceeding agreed performance benchmarks
- Ensure both sites are fresh and engaging over the course of every weekend
- Manage the weekend team efficiently and effectively
- An in-depth knowledge of space, science and nature
- Experience at a senior level in a content role on an editorial website
- An inquisitive mind, looking to enhance the way we approach content
- Sub-editing/proofreading skills
- 1+ years of experience managing freelancers and/or a team and monthly budget management
- A desire to develop new channels using innovative ideas and keeping abreast of industry developments and trends
- A understanding of digital media
- Superb planning
- First-rate knowledge of editorial SEO and analytics packages
- 1+ years of experience producing high-quality, engaging, relevant digital content

Live Science and Space.com cover everything from the latest science and space discoveries, to groundbreaking research and fascinating breakthroughs that impact you and the world and we’re looking for someone to boost our weekend coverage.
What you'll be doing...
As the Weekend Editor you will manage the running of both sites outside of the working week, ensuring breaking news is picked up, the homepages are kept fresh, scheduled content posts smoothly and social channels are kept engaging and responsive. You’ll also manage a team of two weekend writers. This will report to the Content Director.

Please note, the hourly range for this position is $25-33 per hour.
This is a position covered under a collective bargaining agreement between Future US, Inc. and the Writers Guild of America East.
