Job Title: Certified Welder

Job Description

Join our team at a leading manufacturer of steel tanks used to store pressurized water for data centers. Our facilities are state-of-the-art, and we take pride in our decades of service as the nation's premier steel tank manufacturer. We are looking for certified welders with 3-5 years of experience to join our team on a 2nd shift schedule. This is a direct hire position, and comprehensive training will be provided during the first few weeks on the 1st shift until you are ready to move to the 2nd shift.

Responsibilities

• Weld and fabricate various tanks and components to ASME Section VIII Division 1 Code standards using FCAW, GMAW, SAW, and SMAW.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers.
• Safely operate equipment including overhead cranes (training provided).
• Use electric grinding equipment comfortably.
• Read and interpret manufacturing blueprints.
• Measure accurately with a tape measure up to 1/16".
• Work mandatory overtime when needed (not often).
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or the Plant Manager.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 3-5 years of welding experience.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
• Ability to follow written instructions in English in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Ability to follow safety rules and regulations.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Lifting and carrying up to 60 pounds.
• Repeated bending, squatting, and kneeling.
• Standing at work station for extended periods.
• Working in confined spaces (inside tanks).
• Comfortable wearing a full-face respirator when working inside tanks for final assembly/weld.
• Working at heights up to 16 feet.
• Climbing ladders up to 16 feet in height.
• Ability to crawl through a 12" manhole.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with MIG/Stick welding.
• Experience with blueprint welding.
• ASME welding experience.
• Fabrication and TIG welding skills.

Work Environment

Work in a large open shop with induction heating in the floor. The environment can get cold near the bay doors and hot in the summer. Metal scraps and steel plates are laid out on the floor, creating a somewhat dirty but standard industrial weld shop environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $62400.00/yr.
