- Coordinating day-to-day operational activities of the end user computing, desktop, laptop, workstations, and end user support services.
- Build and maintain a positive relationship with multiple business units and IT groups.
- Act as SMART HANDS for non-IT and remote IT support teams, such as Workplace, Network, Server, and application teams.
- Performs post-resolution follow-ups to service requests.
- Perform technical audits of work completed by service providers, partners, and teams.
- Assist with coordination of physical end-user IT asset re-location services.
- Assist with inventory management of all Cenovus IT assets and consumables within the Cenovus Asset management system.
- Analyze and assess the existing Deskside IT operations and recommending areas of improvement and right sizing of the end user experience.
- Ensure IT end user services and support are conducted in a safety conscious manner.
- Establish a relationship with key stakeholders, understanding and anticipating the needs of business and IT groups, finding opportunities, and making recommendations to support the desired future state.
- Educate End Users on application and IT hardware, as required.
- Participate in technical incident and problem management and solve critical issues, as needed.
- Participate in appropriate governance meetings both Cenovus internal and with service providers.
- Travel 80%-90% to and from Western Canada Field sites, may include fly in/fly out, or driving through rural areas.
- University or College diploma in Information Technology.
- ITIL Certification would be considered an asset.
- Cisco CCNA would be an asset.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience of technical support by performing installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of End User hardware and back-end IT infrastructure.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in End User support.
- Experience working in a multi supplier environment.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Working experience in the Oil and gas industry.
- Experience in a Camp Based work environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Hardware and Software suite
- Experience with Intel based computing devices.
- Experience with IT back-end Infrastructure (Network, Telecom, Server).
- Possess good communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Possess collaboration and partnership skills.
- Good teammate.
- Self driven.
- Negotiation and influencing skills.
- Able to work well with limited supervision.

The Operations Advisor is responsible for the day-to-day operational activities of the contracted service provided to Cenovus by the chosen supplier. The Operations Advisor will ensure the safe and efficient delivery of the Field IT services from the Cenovus supplier are met within the contracted service level agreements. The Operations Advisor acts as an onsite IT liaison, escalation point and coordinator for initiatives that have an IT component to support the various field level business units.
