Reports to - Corporate HR Business Partner Job Summary: The Workers' Compensation Specialist ensures the timely processing of workers' compensation claims, evaluates accident reports for accuracy and completeness to ensure adequate incident investigations.
Job Duties: - Evaluates incident reports, ensuring timely and accurate processing of claims with workers' compensation insurance carrier.
- Follows up with injured employee in a timely manner, and educates them on Workers' Compensation and our Return to Work Program.
- Advises or assists branches in conducting investigation of incidents, including interviewing witnesses and procurement of relevant information and documentation.
- Reviews incident reports to identify patterns of injury to determine whether unsafe conditions contributed to the incident.
- Advises branches of trends in injuries and consults with EHS Specialist to provide information that will aid in reducing accidents and improve overall branch safety.
- Provides local management with notices of absence and notices of return to work.
- Responsibility for being the Return to Work Coordinator and works with the branches and the injured employees' doctors to identify light duty options to increase return to work rates.
- Manages annual OSHA reporting.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience: - Minimum of 3 years of experience with workers' compensation coordination.
Physical Requirements: - Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Ability to review and interpret computer images and written documents.
- Ability to stand on concrete floor on occasion, if visiting a NEFCO branch warehouse.
