      As a Worker's Compensation Administrative Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting workers' compensation records management by providing critical document management and control of all employee claims.

      • You will input claims information into electronic claims management system and archive records pertaining to closed claims.
      • You will schedule injured worker medical and/or Independent Medical Examination (IME) appointments, compile and submit associated medical records, and ensure appointment letters and reminders are sent.
      • You will respond to inquiries from injured employees, medical providers, and other claim stakeholders.
      • You will process incoming mail, to include indexing correct claim number, apply date stamp, and route to correct claim adjuster.
      • You will ensure that outgoing benefit and/or medical payments and other correspondence including explanation of reviews and bill rejection letters are sent timely and in accordance with Port and State of Washington requirements.
      • You will assist and provide backup to Workers’ Compensation Administrator for billing processing and troubleshooting issues as they arise, including researching billing inquiries from providers.
      • Experienced – You have one (1) year of administrative experience, to include records management.
      • Desired – We hope you have at least one (1) year of experience in workers compensation, medical billing and/or bookkeeping/accounts payable.

      • Expertise – You have knowledge of basic medical terminology and of insurance and/or workers' compensation principles. You also have knowledge of general office practices and procedures, and equipment.
      • Technically Skilled – You have general knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications, including the ability to work with the general office equipment, including scanning, faxing, emailing and using appropriate document management software.
