What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide individualized writing support to undergraduate and graduate students
- Assist students in developing and organizing ideas for various writing assignments
- Maintain session records and complete documentation in a timely manner
- Participate in training and professional development activities
- Engage in outreach initiatives and contribute to the Writing Center's community programs
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Currently enrolled UW-Madison graduate student eligible for a 20%+ TAship
- Experience teaching writing and/or responding to student writing
- Strong commitment to accessible and socially just pedagogies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Available to teach in person during designated hours at the Main Center and satellite locations
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Currently enrolled in a UW-Madison doctoral program
- Experience providing one-to-one instruction in a writing center or similar setting
- Background in teaching writing-intensive courses at the college level
- Familiarity with writing in STEM disciplines
- Willingness to commit to teaching with the Writing Center for multiple semesters
