Job Details:

This position is responsible for operating 5th wheel spotter trucks and moving 53’ trailers in and out of loading areas while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Responsibilities also include assisting with product storage, retrieval, shipping, and housekeeping.

Responsibilities:

• This position is responsible for moving 53’ trailers in and out of loading docks.
• Willingness to stand, walk, bend, stretch, climb, push, pull and reach are required.
• This position works outside in extreme hot and/or cold environments and requires driving during inclement weather.
• Inspects and notifies the supervisor of any mechanical issues.
• Fuels reefer trailers and tractors for operational needs.
• Maintains documentation of fuel dispensed.
• Weigh loads at the scale house while empty and full.
• Monitor, change out, and offload trailers as needed.
• Assists the Danville Freezer team as needed.

Requirements:

• A minimum of one-year experience operating spotter or transfer trucks, moving 53’ trailers, or Class A CDL. Three years’ experience preferred.
• Must have current driver license (cannot be suspended).
• Must not have had a DUI/DWI conviction within the last 12 months.
• Experience operating a forklift also required.
• Must be able to communicate on two-way radios with dispatchers/management and other shipping personnel.
• Willingness to stand, walk, bend, stretch, climb, push, pull and reach are required.
• Must be able to read and write English to complete logs.
• Basic math skills which include understanding weights.
• Basic computer skills to operate computerized scale and RF Handhelds.
